Thanks K. Noble!

I have read most of Chosen by God and it is a good book. However, a briefer study on Calvinism is the booklet my church produces written by Piper. Sproul's book is good too.

Thanks,

Bob

I just finished reading Erwin Lutzer's book Slandering Jesus. A great book...a very fast read for anyone who would like to have a summary overview of various ways that society is conjuring up the various jesuses of our time.

Bob-my husband just got back from the Shepherd's Conference (John MacArthur's church) and received a massive amount of books (just like last year) and so I hope to have more books read in the near future. While on their forum, I posted a response to someone who was in a similar situation (similar background) that you were in and asking questions about it. I hope you don't mind, but I directed him to your website.

Have a great time off in Christ!

PS_I hope to refer an old "friend" to Piper's church--I'm hoping she'll take me up on it. :)

K. Noble,

I haven't read Lutzer's book. I should include more books on this page, but it's kind of like a best of the best, list. Although anything I actually review gets lister here too.

Thanks for adding you recommendations, too. Feel free.

Blessings in Christ,

Thanks Bob for the recommendation. I'm looking forward To the Golden Shore.

I've read John Piper's What Jesus Demand's from the World. An excellent read that challenges each reader to raise their perspective of Jesus' authority in their own lives. While I do not agree with every single point-I think it is a fine book well-worth the time and money spent.

Does anyone have any comments or reviews about Dr. Erwin Lutzer's book Slandering Jesus?

Sorry I didn't respond to Shawn's post. I have the book but haven't read it yet.

K. Noble,

Feel free to recommend books. I've seen the Big Picture Story Bible and like it too. I haven't read the book on Judson, but To the Golden Shore which focuses on Adoniram Judson is a great read about Ann's husband.

Blessings,

Can I suggest 2 recommended books 1 for children; 1 for women (although men would benefit as well but may not be interested in it.)

The Big Picture Story Bible (great for under 3 or 4 years of age) by David Helm and Gail Schoonmaker

and

My Heart in His Hands-Ann Judson of Burma by Sharon James-about the one of the first American commissioned missionaries to the Far East. Amazing read!

Have you ever read "The Normal Christians Life" by Watchman Nee? What were your thoughts? Thank you very much for your thoughts on the "Once Saved Always Saved" myth. For me, some of the greatest evidence against this view are Christ's words in John 15:1,2,5,6,8 and 10 where he clearly shows that those who are in him will be removed by the Father for not bearing fruit, and that those who don't continue (abide) in him are cast out and burned.
